Ah, yesssss. I just cracked open a fresh new tube of Chapstick.
I don’t drink but I’d imagine this is how people feel when they open a cold beer after a long day of work.
…or for breakfast if you’re my old boss.
Anyway, welcome back to #DoubleFML FatDarrellPalooza!
So, speaking of cold, you might want to check because it’s highly likely that hell has now frozen over.
Why? Because I actually turned down tacos! …well, sort of.
My gig with The Atlanta Hawks entertainment team provides food before each game.
So far, 90% of those meals have been catered by Moe’s Southwest Grill and have consisted of nachos and chicken tacos.
As mentioned last post, we recently had a stretch of 6 events in less than a week so by the time we completed our last game, most of the team was queso’d out.
I was still happy of course.
Hey, I’m never going to turn down free tacos!
Although I would have been fine eating Moe’s every game, several of my teammates complained so our manager decided to switch things up going forward.
He emailed everyone the following list of options and asked us to rank them in order of preference.
The choices were Moe’s again but a burrito bar instead of tacos this time, pizza, Chick Fil-A, Jimmy John’s subs or Jersey Mikes subs.
Here’s how I ranked them:
Pizza – No surprise there
- Jersey Mike’s – This is where hell froze over since most would expect pizza and burritos to be my top 2. Burritos are basically just larger soft tacos though, so I’m sure people would complain again. Besides, I was raised in Jersey, so Mike’s got my vote this time.
- Moe’s burrito bar – There’s no way I could allow burritos to drop any further in my rankings, that would be blasphemy.
- Jimmy John’s – their portions are smaller but not bad.
- Chick-Fil-a.
I know, some may be shocked to see Chick-Fil-a ranked so low but I’ve had a ton of their food lately too.

That’s the restaurant that ultimately won though so until further notice, we’ll “eat mor Chikin” before each game.
Thankfully my boss said we’ll occasionally cycle through the other options as well. I suppose we’d have to for certain games anyway though since they’re closed on Sundays.
That’s good though, because I don’t think I could eat Chick-Fil-a every meal. That would get old real fast!
Aside from pizza and tacos, there aren’t many options I could eat every day and not get tired.
Well, maybe the soul of my enemies but unfortunately that wasn’t on the list of choices…
How would you have ranked the options my manager provided? If you had to survive on the same food every meal, what would be it? Comment Below!
Speaking of The Atlanta Hawks Flight Crew, here are a few random photos and a few cameos we’ve made during Fox Sports Southeast broadcasts since last post:
I also assisted with the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader’s year end party next door at Mercedes Benz Stadium! Here are a few additional photos from that event:
Hey, it’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it…
I also got to check out a taping of WWE’s Monday Night Raw last week at State Farm Arena!
That last photo is of former UFC and current WWE Raw Women’s Champion Rhonda Rousey who was nice enough to stop to take a photo with that fan before she had to go.
Those are the pictures that most of you would probably be interested in, but if you’re a wrestling fan and want to check out the rest, let me know and I’ll post them on social media!
I suppose after that discussion about muscle-bound athletes, now’s as good a time as ever to post the fitness tip. However, this week, the fitness tip and foodie taste-test are one in the same because check out what I found at the grocery store earlier!
Yes, these are frozen Greek yogurt bars from Yasso!
Apparently, this company has been around for awhile since they also make pints.
Halo Top Creamery has been my default “healthy alternative” ice cream option so I hadn’t really paid much attention to other brands until today when I spotted these bars!
So yeah, I’m a little late with this review. Hence the title.
Oh, the first half of the title is accurate too!
The entire back end of my shopping cart fell off as I was walking across the parking lot so I was literally “droppin’ bars”. Fun times.
Thanks for nothing Kroger.
Anyway, I’ve obviously had frozen yogurt before but the only frozen Greek yogurt I’ve ever had was homemade.
Obviously, homemade is always preferred, but I’m still really impressed by the Yasso options.
Each bar ranges from 80-150 calories and contain between 5 and 7 grams of protein. Most of their flavors are gluten free, kosher and none of them contain GMO’s, artificial colors or flavors!
According the website, they currently have 17 flavored bars, but I’ve only tried the Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Chip Mint and Chocolate flavors so far.
…in one sitting.
In my defense, I did it for you! Sorta… Hey, this is a taste-test after all!
There’s no need to provide an individual review for each flavor since they were all rich, creamy and delicious.
Since it’s yogurt, they obviously contain dairy so if you have nutrition restrictions, there’s your warning.
Diabetics may also want to confirm that the amount of sugar is within a safe range, but aside from those special situations, Yasso provides a great alternative to regular ice cream bars.
Hmm, I’ll have to try their pints now too. Yasso, I’m a beliver!
Do you have another food item, restaurant or recipe we should all try? Tell us in the comments below!
For those looking to double down on probiotics, my store location also had coupons displayed nearby for regular Light & Fit Greek yogurt from Dannon!
Fun fact: If you ad “with addiction and deep-rooted daddy issues” to “light and fit Greek” you’ll also have an accurate description of my ex.
And this rice accurately describes the one after her…
Anyway, DJ cue the music!
Today’s Soundtrack
Welcome To The Party (Valentino Khan Remix) – Diplo, French Montana, Lil Pump and Zhavia Ward
Frozen – Madonna
Firestarter – The Prodigy (RIP Keith Flint)
Rule the World – 2Chainz ft. Ariana Grande
Clout – Offset ft. Cardi B
Flavor of the Month – Black Sheep
break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored – Ariana Grande
Do you have another song that fits today’s themes or that’s just so great we should check it out anyway? Tell us in the comments below!
You may have noticed “Firestarter” from the group “The Prodigy” included in the soundtrack. Sadly, the lead singer passed away on Monday. The album that song appears on (The Fat of The Land) has been my default gym playlist for over a decade! I was excited to finally see them live here in Atlanta in May since they just announced new tour dates.
Luke Perry, star of Beverly Hills 90210, also tragically passed away on Monday and WWE legend King Kong Bundy passed early Tuesday morning, so this week is off to a rough start already.
If nothing else, let that be a lesson to grab life by the cojones. Tomorrow isn’t promised.
Speaking of crazy weeks, you may have seen this ugly Momo creature featured in the news lately.
Supposedly, this creature is being edited into kid’s videos and games and convincing them to commit suicide. Although this story has mostly been debunked as a hoax based on an urban legend, it’s probably still a good idea to pay attention to what you’d kid’s are watching anyway. YouTube isn’t always the best babysitter.
Speaking of kids, if I ever have one, please remind me to use both of these ideas!
Anyway, let’s check out the next several days of “foodie holidays” shall we?
OMG March 6th! I don’t remember celebrating this one last year but I’ll never forget again! National Oreo Day! Looks like I know which day will be my cheat meal this week!
Anyway, that about does it for today folks.
Please make sure to leave a comment before you go though!
Also make sure to follow me on social media by clicking the logos on the main menu.
Let’s pray that this is the last burst of cold weather here in the US before it finally warms up for good.
…or at least I hope so, my gas bill almost gave me sticker shock last month! Ironically, March 11 is National “Eat Your Noodles” Day. That’s great because ramen noodles may be all I can afford after that last meter reading.
Anyway, thanks again for dropping by folks! Until next time, May the Fork be With You…

Meme Dump!!!!
You turned down tacos? Wow!!! Here’s how I would rank the food choice options: 1. Pizza, 2. Chic-Fil-a, 3. Jersey Mike”s, 4. Moe’s burrito bar and 5. Jimmy John’s. By the way, what type food is served at Jimmy John’s? The answer might affect my ranking, but overall Pizza rules, right??? lol. Hawks pics and videos are COOL!

This post cracked me up, especially your Light and Fit Greek yogurt fun fact about your ex!!! As usual, I always enjoy your experiences with the Atlanta Hawks Flight Team! Thanks for sharing pics and videos. My food ranking choices consist of three of them in this order: Chick-Fil-a, Pizza, and Jersey Mike’s. Forget the rest…haha

Yeah, you can’t really go wrong with any of those food choices but I still hope my manager occasionally mixes things up! At least I know he’ll have to on Sunday games!

Pizza has left the number #1 slot on my list since moving away from NJ. I’ve never heard of Moe’s but that would probably be my number 1 now. I love chic fila. Pizza next. I miss the local deli subs from NJ but could pass up Jersey Mike’s and jimmy johns easily. Looks like you are having a blast at your new “job”. I said “job” cause it looks way to fun to call it that! That’s awesome. Congrats to you!

Ha yeah normally Moe’s would be right behind pizza at number 2. Chick fila would normally be third, Jersey Mike’s 4 and Jimmy Johns last but due to the current circumstances, I had to switch up the order for my vote lol. Moe’s is pretty good btw, you’ll probably like them if you have one nearby! And thanks, yeah, the new sports gigs are fun- thanks for your comments!
